August Employee of the Month

Meet our Employee of the Month for August, Cheryl Sparks! She has worked in our Dietary Department for five years but has been in the healthcare industry for the past 11 years. Cheryl has been such a positive asset ever since joining our team. She loves to help out in any way she can. On her days off, she really enjoys filling in for our Activities Department because she loves spending time with our residents.

Cheryl is originally from South Shore, Kentucky. She has four kids, one of which was in an accident recently, which has motivated him to pursue a career in orthopedics. He is also interested in working with the elderly and has recently applied at Concord for a part-time position in activities! We love to welcome more family members with open arms!

Cheryl has many reasons why she loves working at Concord. She says that she loves to hear how the residents talk about not only their personal life but the history of the area and how things used to be. She especially enjoys our dementia patients because even though they have cognitive and memory issues, they still love to talk about the past and the things they do remember. She loves serving the residents through food and especially loves to be involved in activities because she can directly interact with them. She says seeing their smiles make it all worthwhile!
